So, this painting. It means a lot to me. I did it in such a rush to have it done by Gaga's birthday because I was planning to go (I even had worked out a trade with someone; LMZ tickets in exchange for a commission) and was going to take the painting to try to give it to her during the concert. But, of course, with my luck I got sick. Really really sick. I was heartbroken...I tried so hard to "power through it" but I just couldn't, Every time I got up out of bed, I fell back down on the verge of blacking out. Anyways, tears aside, luckily a very good friend of mine took the painting to the concert for me. Life changing moment #1: it was on the news. Life changing moment #2: Gaga got the painting I...am still speechless. I have never been able to show her anything I've done for her, let alone get the original straight to her hands....I feel so blessed, so lucky. My friend (the one who took the painting) stuck around after the show, but security wouldn't let her backstage (despite Gaga telling her she could) Lady Starlight and Perez Hilton both talked to her, said the panting was backstage and everyone including Gaga loved it. (have I mentioned how I cannot BELIEVE this happened?!) I didn't write my contact information on the back, I didn't want her to think all I wanted was exposure or for her to write me. I wrote her a letter, signed my name. All I wanted was to tell her how she's helped me, how her outlook and music has made life and pain just a little bit easier.
